Located in Tupelo, Mississippi, McCarty King Construction is licensed to provide services throughout the Mid-South and has decades of experience working in Healthcare and Senior Living environments, as well as a varied range of Commercial, Civic, Educational and Residential projects. Our range of experience includes new construction, as well as the multi-phased expansion and renovations of existing facilities.

HEALTHCARE

McCarty King’s experience in healthcare began in 1988. Since that time, we have constructed and/or renovated a wide range of free-standing facilities as well as most diagnostic, treatment, and acute care environments in a hospital setting. Many of those projects have been executed in fully occupied spaces. Our experience with Imaging and Surgical Suites has also earned an impressive reputation with those equipment suppliers resulting in their recommending us to their customers.

SENIOR LIVING

McCarty King Construction has a long history with Senior Living projects and is sensitive to the importance of these projects in the lives of the Elders who occupy them. Along with our associated Design Group and long-term client, Methodist Senior Services, we were instrumental in the original development of the innovative Green House Project in Tupelo, MS conceived by Dr, William Thomas, this ground-breaking project set into motion an exciting evolution in the skilled nursing industry, transforming the traditional institutional environment into a warm, rich residential setting.

As a service provided in a range of markets, McCarty King strives to constantly increase our knowledge about how our clients operate and improve our internal systems for greater efficiency in delivering their projects.

We clearly recognize the importance of safe practices in all that we do, particularly in healthcare environments. Many of our staff maintain applicable safety certifications through OSHA as well as ASHE’s Healthcare Construction Certification program.

Even though every project has a unique personality, we recognize that successful project delivery is achieved through the use of a methodical process. Our practice utilizes a flexible system of guidelines and checklist designed to provide structure for project management and project building strategies. We also embrace alternative scenarios that unite the construction team with the owner and design team as early as possible. We believe that this team approach allows more effective decisions to be made that impact both cost and quality.

McCarty King’s Project Management Team has developed procedures to help outline project resources that can be used to manage any project; from the largest design-build project to the smallest renovation.  Of the utmost importance is how the team will manage issues, changes of scope, risks, qualities, and communications.  It is our goal that managing a project rigorously and proactively will ensure that the project stakeholders and subcontractors will have the common understanding of how the project can be managed from start to finish.

McCarty King embraces sustainable practices in construction and has been a leader in building sustainable projects in our market area for years. Sustainability is a way of thinking and for decades, McCarty King has focused on long-term value and life cycle cost when working with their clients. McCarty King built the first LEED-CI certified project in Mississippi, Day-Brite Lighting Center, and a LEED Silver project, Pulmonary Consultants.
